to all who are wondering about he currency exchange in Ecuador... The official tender since 2001 is the dollar, so if you are coming from the USA, you will use the same dollar, but if you come from any other country, all you have to do is check the rate exchange of the currency of your country against the dollar.

JEF, Ecuador's currency is US dollars since 2001. They may not take all US-issued bills (i.e. some $100 bills) but you can use US dollars bills and coins over there. In regards to money transfers, you can use money in minutes through Western Union or other agencies or just a wire transfer (which only takes minutes) from a US bank to Banco de Guayaquil or Banco Internacional. Everything is really simple nowadays!

Dear Brij Misra, Thank you for visiting Ecuador.com. We have not included the exchange rate due to the rate not remaining the same. As exchange rates fluctuate, we would advise that you inquire about the rate, on the day of exchange.
