I am looking for my deceased father's family in Ecuador. His name was Galo Giler Zambrano. I know he had a couple of brothers and a sister. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my goodness, there are a whole bunch of Zambrano's in Manabi. I will ask my cousin if he know of a Giler Zambrano. By the way, welcome.

Speak of the devil! I just went onto http://www.lahora.com.ec in the "vida social" section of Manabi to look at a few pics and there was a pic of a Silvia Giler posted. You should check it out and maybe try writing to lahora and asking them if they have any leads. Hope this helps!

Thanks, Johita!! for the information, I really appreciate it. I am trying to find out more about my father's side of the family since I never really knew him. Are you currently living in Ecuador?

I am not currently living in Ecuador, but I will be travelling there this summer. Well, good luck with your search..hope you find more info on your father's side of the family.

I will be in Ecuador next week. I will try to get some information concerning genealogical archives/libraries in Ecuador. There is genealogical work being conducted in Ecuador by various interest groups. In fact a good Ecuadorian friend of mine, now residing in Phoenix, is an expert on this suubject. He could probably help. By the way, I read your e-mail, yes. May I help?
