Hi! My mother used to tell me a story about a "cucarachita mandinga" who went to the market to buy something for her mother but bought herself hair-ribbons and earrings instead (a story from her childhood in Guayaquil, Ecuador)! Does anybody know this story? Or the origin of it? what does mandinga mean? Does anybody know the whole story ? (my mother forgot most of it by now)

Hola bananita me hisiste acuerdo ek mi mamá tambien me cantaba esa historia y dice asi:
Andaba la cucarachita mandinga por una planicie de arboles y hierva buscando con quien casarse.
Correle y correle la cucarachita mandinga se topo con el toro y el toro le dice: cucarachita mandinga a donde vas?
C.M: A buscar con quien casar!!!!
El.T: Casate conmigo!!
C.M. Como vas a llorar?
El.T. MMUUuuuuuuuuuu!!!
C.M Huyyyyy que mieeeedooo, contigo no me casare...
Y correle correle la cucarachita mandinga se topa con un perro.
P. Cucarachita mandinga a donde vas?
C.M. A buscar con quien casar!!!

(sigue asi la historia con varios animales y sus sonidos los cuales ella se asusta hasta ke se topa con el ratón...)
R.Cucarachita mandinga a donde vas?
C.M. A buscar con kien casar!!!
R. casate conmigo!!!
C.M. como vas a llorar?
R. yik yik yik (un sonido muy suavito )
C.M. Siiii contigo si em casare!!!!

Y asi termina la historia de la cucarachita mandinga y el significado de mandinga si ya no lo se pero keda asi su nombre!
