Help with Cotacachi relocation

We are looking at relocation visit possibilities for Cotacachi (my wife and I and 2 boys (ages 6 & 12). Anyone out there familiar wtih Cotacachi? If so would appreciate any information on the area from someone who has been there or lived/lives there on a regular basis. Any information on climate, the locals accepting of Americans who are friendly and don't try to change things, housing for sale, and any other information you would like to share. Thanks.

Go to Yahoo Groups and join the Ecuador Expat group. It's very active and there's a wealth of info on all sorts of subjects (use the search at the top of the page). Also you can check out Ecuador, Living in Ecuador this is the web site of a couple who live in Cotacachi.

I've only been to Cotacachi a couple of times so I can't really tell you anthing about it other than you can get some beautiful leather items there!

Cotacachi is a beautiful little town well worth considering as a place to live. My wife and I live in town and consider the locals to be extremely helpful and friendly to us.
