Red face

This may sound haughty and up-right snobbed as a general inquiry- but last time I arrived at the airport in Guayaquil, I was in a big long line first of all going through customs and the passport thing, but then I had huge bags ( like 4) and they were opening everyones bags- personal items, underwear, and a few more intimate things fell out which would have really embaressed me if those were my bags ( banana anyone ?)..but is it now standard to open all the bags, and search through everything, or has it changed...? I am in Seattle, and after a 16-17 hour flight, COME ON.. I was there one year ago, and since I was the last one and the officers at the airport looked worn out, AND my bags were humongous, they let me slide. I was also looking a bit p***** off if you know what I mean- the look on my face was like I don't care what type of barrel you shove in my face, you " ain't" touching my things with your bare hands- just the principle of the thing..and ladies get real a stranger sifting through your lingerie- purposely lifting it out og the suitcase for all to see. Poor people I have seen this..why the humility?? Well they would start to enjoy their job a little too much, hmm! So, what should I expect? And does it cost 1 or 2 dollars for those carts to roll your luggage? Tell me your experience at Simon Bolivar Airport in Guayaquil. What delays I should expect, and is your family still only allowed to be outside or on the other side of "the gate"? Your response will be very appreciated. Especially since I leave on Monday October 8, at 6:15 am. Well, it will be a long ride.

Red face ya, i hate that

Its almost as if they REALLY enjoy the control they have over you, the fact that they are superior in some way. Ticks me off cause its an unneeded hassle. The cops are reasonable, though, if you are friendly, and talk to them nicly... But, if you tell them too much, they think you are scared, and thus weak, so they ride your ass all the time... OOOOH, the fine ballance of ass kissing, and kicking.
