Capoeira in Quito

Capoeirista69, I'm an Irish Capoeirista who might be moving to Quito for a few months and have been searching the internet for a school there. I have been unsuccessful! Would you know of a school there and contact details.

Muchas Gracias y suerte

Tucano

Hola Amigo,

I played in Newcastle, England under Prof Pelicano for about five months before I left four months ago to travel around your beautiful continent. Had the privilege to play against our Mestre Nenel before leaving. I'm essentially only a beginner but have fallen in love with the game though and if I'm going to heve to stop somewhere to work for a while I'd like to be able to continue playing. Which disipline are you Angola, Regional or Senzala. I'll be dissappointed if there's not a school in Quito. Have my heart set on staying there for a while and I haven't played in about four months.

hasta luego Camara'

YOU KNOW PROF. PELICANO!!! how is he? I haven'r seen him in a long time! well my Mestre is Mestre Houy! Style? I never actually thought about that! well my style is traditional...Capoeira has "evolved" during the ages there are not many Mestres who teach the traditional style anymore. My mestres mestres (I don't know how long it goes down the line) was trained by Mestre Bimba.
so they are trained in the tradittional Capoeira. Mestre Houy and all the other Mestres that were taught in the slave way play for blood. (they hit each other for real)

well so far I haven't found anything in Ecuador but there is a lot of Capoeira in Brazil...which is great because they play out on the street...they just get together a play and any one could jump in!

Alright lad,

Thanks a million for looking for a school for me, I'm getting the feeling that I'm out of luck though. Will persist though.

Aye the last time I saw Pelicano he was in good form after the Mestre visit. Think he's going back to Salvador for a visit in January with the Newcastle school.

Anywy amigo, gracias otra vez y suerte
