Info on Problems in the North

Spent two weeks recently in Northern Ecuador where I witnessed the negative effects of the Columbian Guerilla spilling into Ecuador (kidnappings, etc), and the Coke routes through this country. There is very little in the news about support that the underfunded /overworked Ecuadorian army is getting except a short blurb on Sept. 6. does anyone know of an internet news site that will give it some coverage regularly - English preferred but it would force me to establish my spanish.
