Unhappy

Hello every one!

I was born in Ecuador 25 yrs ago. 20 of those, I've lived in the USA. I haven't been back since. I would love to visit this beautiful country that saw me come into this world, there is one thing though, that frightens me. Thats is that all I know about Ecuador is what I see in the media and what people I know tell me, and unfortunetly not all is entirely good. For example, My friend just came back from Ecuador with the most horrible expirience ever, after being absent from Ecuador for about 18yrs. According to the "oficials" someone with the same name as him had committed a crime so they refused to let him exit the country. They refused all reasonable evidence and after all intents and an abundant amount of evidence, they only listened to the all mighty dollars. I'm scared to visit a country in which the only true law is corruption. Please tell me that there is much more in Ecuador than this dirty, rotten sense of corruption and greed.

Smile Pack your Bags!!!!!!!

Listen Buddy,

Every country on the face of this earth has its problems...

I think your being to pesimistic and not giving Ecuador a fair chance...

YOu should not judge a place from what others tell you. I hope someday you travel to ecuador (specially GYE) with an openmind and allow its beauty to enter your soul.

What you encounter in this nation has nothing to do with luxeries but rather it's inner beauty and the friendliness of its people,,

GIvE it a shot buddy

you have nothing to lose...

Trust me ,... you'll have the time of your life...
(Alot can change in 20 years..)

Peace,

Thumbs up

Listen,

I was born in New York and my parents in Ecuador. Every year we travel to Guayaquil-Ecuador not only is it an amazing country with its landscapes but the culture and people are terrific. I consider myself lucky to have this county as part of my life. I understand that your friend had problems in the country for mistaken identity but just because this happened to him it doesn't mean it will happen to you. Be adventurous. I always find new places to go within the county. Clubs are Jammin!

ecuador rox laje

ok the first thing is: ecuador is very corrupt. the plain simple truth. it is EXTREMELY CORRUPT! but, the people and the landscape and absolutly every experience(good or bad) that u have in ecuador makes it worth going. yes it may seem bad and gloomy, but if you go, you will learn to look past all the bad corruption and see the trulyt beautifl country it is. I lived there for 2 years and all i can say is: i love it. i love it. i fell in love. it is amazing, and totaly worth the few bad experiences u may confront there. have a good one, and make suru u check out Tena, in the jungle....it is absolutly pure, and corruption is lvery little there. altho doctors think so, it is far enough up the andis mountains that u wont get malaria, it is too cold. it is very nice there, and u will be able to meet a completly different side of ecuador. well peace.

Hey Sachagringo

Sachagringo,
I´m so sorry for you, man. I don´t know what kind of experiences you have had in Tena, or Archidona, or whatever places you have been, pal, but let´s face it, those places are in the very middle of the jungle. You are offering a very partialized vision of Ecuador. NOT EVERYTHING HERE IS CORRUPTED!! That´s the problem with your kind of "gringos", you people think of yourselves as far superior, looking at everything and everybody around you as you where looking at things from above us. Hey, I can also say your country is corrupted, is one of the only few remaining places in the world where somebody can be killed or imprisoned by the police just because you have a darker skin colour. The US is the only place that I know of, where kids open fire in their schools and kill their friends or teachers, just for the pleasure of it. I tell u man, I would be very scared if I lived in the US and had kids, because you people don´t seem to have any family values anymore (at least it seems to, for what we see on TV or the news). GOTCHA!

So, LaJe, my message is clear: you have to experience it by yourself. Don´t pay attention to what other people say to you, specially those "I know everything about it" kind of gringos, that think they know everything just because they have spend a little time (and believe me, 2 years is little) in a very little town, or place here. Don´t be afraid, come visit us, Guayaquil is very nice, and guayaquileños are even nicer and ¡Ecuador rules! :0)

dearest JBF

ok PEACE DUDE! what the hell are you talking about? I live in canada, where shootings dont happen that often. Im not here to "show u up" or have a macho war of testosterone, but PEACE! man oh man, i was tellin the person a few things about MY area of ecuador.
i told him straight forward things about it. Not to scare or turn off of goin to ecuaodr. I think that ecuador is the best country in the world, honestly. But u dont have to call me a "gringo" cause if you want to bring race into it, you can you cocky spic. Really, if you wanna call my country "corupt" HAHAHAH BEOTCH you have something coming!! the difference is that we are a much more developed country, and not in your views as"superior". thank you very much. To the point of a "gringo"as u have developed the rasist way of calling them, ecuador is corrupt. do the cops get payed off in the states? no, you never hear of it EVER. All im sayin is that to a forreigner, it is corrupt. the truth, and dont frikin lie you loser. you and i know it, oh and 2 years wasnt enough your right, but in two years in ecuador i saw more corruption than any forreigner has seen in their lifetime in their country. So if that is all i would like to say one more thing. If you are trying to put up a"strong" front for Ecuador, you are doin a crapass job.You make ecuadorians look like cocky fools. Really. so peace, or go to hell.
sacha"gringo"
