A faith born of fear

The demand of an unquestioning faith is a faith that fears examination. Such demands are not made by God, but by men seeking to impose their will upon others. For unlike a lie, the light of examination does not trouble the truth, but upholds it.

One does not need to try and rationalize what is inspired of God, for it is not absurd, does not contradict, nor confuse, but is easily understood from the simplest to greatest; yet, apologist must try and rationalize many things within the Bible. For faith in God and faith in the Bible are not one and the same. Dung is dung regardless of where it is found and anyone who claims that God commanded the butchery of men, women and children are not called of God, but is a self-called preacher of dung!

If people believe evil things said of God, evil will be done in His name. It is time for God's people to quit being intellectually dishonest with self and with God, claiming that they approve of men, women and children being hacked to death as long as it is claimed that it was commanded by God. For there is no difference between the false bloody one of 1 Samuel 15:2-3 and that one whom the loonies of 9/11 served.

Children of God, what say you? Did the Spirit of Truth affirm within your Spiritual heart that what is said of God in 1 Samuel 15:2-3 speaks truthfully of your Heavenly Father? Have you, in seeking to please men, crucified your mind that you may swallow camels? Is it out of bondage to fear of unbelief that you pretend to not understand that such perverse things said of God are wicked?

If one insists upon believing that God commanded the vile things of 1 Samuel 15:2-3, that He is a butcher of babies, they are placing their faith in what men have claimed of God, rather than in God alone! For there is not a single one of you who can truthfully testify that it was God himself who personally told you that He did indeed command the things of 1 Samuel 15:2-3. And further more, after having read my report, not one of you shall be able to stand before God and claim you never heard one preaching that God is not that bloody butcher of 1 Samuel 15:2-3. The only truthful thing you can say is you choose to reject the argument that God didn’t command vile things such as 1 Samuel 15:2-3 and embraced the arguments of those who claim He did because you were afraid not to!

For the pillars upholding Christianity are bribery and fear. The promise of a heavenly reward to those that have unquestioning faith in its doctrines and threats of damnation to those that doubt. If these things were removed from Christian dogma its house of bondage would surely collapse!

You are a vain braggart and perfect example of the intellectual dishonesty that is required of one to maintain belief in the inerrancy of the Bible.

You submit an argument without revealing that is not yours, but the argument of another. And have the audacity to expect me to plow through it, while refusing to examine the argument of Carrier.

I post to hundreds of boards and simply don't have time to waste doing homework for you.

I'll leave you with this, if you insist upon believing that God is a butcher of babies, it just might be that you are worthy of such a deity.

REFLECTIONS ON 610 GOSPEL CONTRADICTIONS - servant_wayne - MR. "610" declares the bible is trash and assassinates the character of the Lord Jesus Christ in the process.


1) He is not the author of any of what he has submitted. Not one of the 610 contradictions are his - yet he acts like he is the author at first. Then he condemns me for quoting others and not properly citing them. Didn't know I was submitting a paper for grading to Professor W. Note: if the information is accurate. What difference does it make where it came from???? The issue is truth not where the foul line is - he keeps moving it anyway - to wherever I'm standing. LOL

2) Historical records are hugely inadequate to nit-pick on every minutiae detail. Huge gaps and inconsistencies exist.

3) Historians are hugely in disagreement on innumerable issues.

4) Personal attacks are part of Mr. 610’s agenda which have no place in a legitimate debate. That’s how wars are started. Interesting that Mr. 610 decries the violence in the bible yet he acts like he would like to start a war himself.

5) If the bible is so full of lies, deceit and errors, how come it has lasted all these years and will go on long after Mr. 610 has discovered the truth after he dies.

6) Arguments from silence are a major part of his agenda - addressing what is not said. If an author did not choose to include certain facts is that an automatic error? If an author did not choose to be chronological and include every detail, is that an automatic error? If so then all history is in error. Thus we are left with nothing - including the value of his critiques.

7) The bible, first of all, does not have any internal contradictions - when you disallow the foolishness of arguments from silence. And when you find out true history, science, etc, you will find that the bible has been accurate all along. This has occurred hundreds of times throughout history. There is also complete agreement within all 66 books on matters of doctrine. And the prophecy record remains at an absolute 100% in every detail. Secular history, science, other religious books, etc. cannot claim any of this. Mr. 610 does not acknowledge this, but rather forces the bible to conform to ever changing historical and scientific accounts when the bible has a superiority to them and the autographs have never changed.

8) Everything Mr. 610 has submitted all over the internet and to me in rebuttal was hundreds of pages that were written by someone else. Yet he condemned me for quoting others. He admitted to this as if that was a legitimate stance and then stated that he did not have the time to do answer me point for point. But gave me another 100 pages to dig out my answers. This is a debating tactic often called a "snow job", i.e., flooding your opponent with an impossible amount of irrelevant information to wear him down so he will give up. Then declare victory. And he accuses me of having a flaw in my character!

9) Never once did our Mr. 610 answer me point for point. Even when there were only a few points made and he could have answered them off the top of his head - or could he have??? Maybe his whole schtick is to copy/paste/flood/assassinate my character.

10) If the bible is so worthless, why does he spend so much of his time researching and attacking it?

11) The message of the bible is one of peace on earth, good will toward men - especially at this time of year. So even if he perceives it as worthless, foolish, and faulty, why spend so much time to destroy it when its message has some value to others and indirectly to him.

Ever go into a hospital or college or charitable organization or country, (America), that had something of it’s origin owed to a bible believer or two? I hope he does not live in America if he is true to his position about the bible. Have you ever received treatment in a hospital, Wayne? Or benefited in some way from a college or university? Or your loved ones received charity from some organization? More than likely it was started by some bible believing fool.

Ever decide you want eternal life instead of the Lake of Fire when you die? Then express a moment of faith alone in Christ alone and God will see to it that you are heavenbound, in spite of yourself. (Jn 3:16).

That's why Jesus was born according to all those "contradictions" in the gospels. But get it right on this side of the grave.

12) Many men of history, science and innumerable other vocations who uphold the bible have done some marvelous things for humanity. Why try to completely destroy it’s validity with the vindictiveness of a raging pit bull

13) Demanding that the bible list every event in chronological order is unreasonable and an imposition on the author. Historians like himself don’t do this, nor does the historical record even provide this information. So why pick on the bible’s authors when their intention is not to do this anyway?
