what a match-up, 2 years ago ecuador could never get a macth in europe much less against a team like spain. WHat do you guys think? Its gonna be interesting to see what lineup Hernan Gomez uses. What is your opinion on "el Bolillo"? do you think his ideology is outdated? he boast about his philosphy and how it worked for colombia in the past 3 world cups but really how effective was it? 2 1st round eliminatiopns and 1 lucky qualification to the 2nd round because of the format used, which allowed them as 3rd place in their group to qualify. Really is it something to be proud of? I just dont know if he has changed hopefully he has also grown as a coach after his world cup experience with the team and knows his players better. It will definetely be interesting though what the lineup will be and how the player react to the situation this being the biggest match since the world cup. You know I think its time to give Ibarra a chance in goal he has looked better then cevallos in the mational tournament, cevallos has looked shaky at times and Ibarra plays with more confidence and has played great in the libertadores where cevallos has looked shaky..
my prediction: Ecuador 2 Spain 2 Carlos Tenorio(*85) and Mendez(*42) will score De La cruz and ayovi will assist. Hopefully they have grown since the world cup and have a better sense of what they need to do to compete against european teams. I think they have, though its still gonna take more time to bring this ideology and proffesionalism to the entire country many still dont have that deep understanding of what it takes many still are afraid to fail.. |
