Equator Museum in Quito Ecuador including a test of the Coriolis effect on draining water
A visit to the Equator Museum in Quito. Directly on the equator, sun dials face upward and not horizontal, eggs can be balanced upright on the head of a nail, and the Coriolis effect can be observed. Watch as water drains straight down the drain on the equator, while just south of the equator it drains in a clockwise direction, and counterclockwise just 6 feet north of the equator. A cool demonstration. Shot in August 2010
