Road Trip through Ecuador

This was a two week road trip through Ecuador together with my family, undertaken in December 2008. We started off in Guayaquil, headed up to Cuenca in the highlands, visited the foggy volcano of Chimborazo (6268m) and then headed east into the Amazon basin passing the erupting volcano Tungurahua on the way. After a few days staying at an indigenous family eco lodge in the rainforest, we headed back up into the Alto Plano to visit the perfectly shaped volcano Cotopaxi (5896m) and bumped along the spectacular dirt roads of the Quilotoa Loop before finishing the trip off in Quito. What a beautiful country!
