Rescue in Ecuador A rescue in Ecuador. A British and an Australian tourist kidnapped in Ecuador while visiting a remote nature reserve in the Amazon were rescued by Ecuadorian authorities Saturday. The tourists, identified as Katherine Sara Cox and Fiona Louise Wilde, were abducted Friday near the country's border with Colombia. (SOUNDBITE) (English) RESCUED AUSTRALIAN TOURIST, FIONA LOUISE WILDE, SAYING: "We were very scared, but we could often hear the helicopters above us and that was very comforting while we were in the jungle. When the helicopters got right above us the kidnappers made us hide in the bushes and the kidnappers got scared. They were-- we think-- close to maybe killing us. And then for some reason they changed their mind and told us to run and we ran out, towards the helicopters yelling, trying to get their attention." Authorities said the pair were rescued by a specialist team made up of hundreds of police officers and soldiers.

Thank you, International Living, for this opportunity. For the record, all parts of this video are our own work. We wrote and recorded the music and took the pictures and videos with our Samsung pocket camera. All materials in the picture of the library shelves are books, seminar materials and training programs we have authored, edited, or ghost-written. By way of additional background, my undergrad degree from Wheaton College is in Cultural Anthropology. Maria and I are completing our professional coaching certification with the International Coaching Academy: Maria's niche is Life/Spiritual Coaching, and mine is Business Coaching. We have one daughter and an incredible son-in-law, a major in the Air Force flying the KC-10 refueler. Our daughter appears in one of our video pictures as an infant held by Maria's father. As a young child, our daughter toured with us in our Cessna Turbo 206 while we performed throughout North America. Our three grandchildren appear in a picture with us on bicycles in front of their house in NJ. We have lived in MI, IL, TX, CA, CO, and now reside in Fort Wayne, IN.

With support from home and afar, the Ali Shungu foundation is delivering food to two communities. It costs about $.75 per person each day to provide a simple, nutricious meal of meat, potatoes and vegetables.

A team of scientists from Ecuador and the United States has documented that the Yasuni National Park is the most biodiverse area in South America. In addition, the new study details how the Yasuni breaks world records for a wide range of groups of plants and animals, from insects and amphibians to the trees. However, the authors warn that oil projects in lots 31 and ITT represent the greatest threat to Yasuni and biodiversity. "Yasuni is at the center of a small area where amphibians, birds, mammals and vascular plants all reach a maximum diversity in South America," "The 150 species of amphibians documented to date in Yasuni is a world record for an area of this size, " said Diego F. Cisneros-Heredia, Universidad San Francisco de Quito. "There are more species of frogs and toads in Yasuni that are native to the United States and Canada combined."
