Video #20 - Typical Beach Bar in Atacames, Ecuador - Bar Cheers [00:38]
The bar is named Cheers and sits on the beach along the Pacific Ocean. A 16oz Pilsener beer (seemed to be the national beer) in the bar is $1.50 US, pretty cheap! There is always music playing, always.

Cotacachi Day of the Dead [03:53]
Day of the Dead in Ecuador isn't exactly like Halloween. People go the the cemetery the night before, but not to spook each other... they actually sit up with their deceased loved ones, bringing them the foods and drinks they enjoyed in life. Then it's party time. In Cotacachi, food booths are set up on the main square and the men play tromps, a local game involving a large top, a puck that is smacked up and down the street, and a lot of beer.

"Amazon Jungle" Laine's photos around Tena, Ecuador [02:39]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Tena, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Laine titled "Amazon Jungle" Laine's travel blog entry: "8/12-14/12 We had a big night out before we left Quito and went to a bar where we got a gigantic tube of beer, basically it held about 6 pints and you could pour it out at the table. We ended up in a night club dancing to South American pop music feeling rather tall compared to the other people dancing. It was quite a good night and we got to know each other a bit better. The next day saw us on a 6 hr bus ride into Tena, where we were going to spend the next 5 days in the Amazon jungle. Now I don't know about you but I have always wanted to go here, it has always been portrayed as a really exotic and exciting place. We arrived at our lodge after being transferred in the back of a pick up truck, a bumpy but exciting enough ride. The lodge was right on the top of a cliff, looking out over the Amazon jungle and the river. For as far as you could see it was just jungle, green dense jungle with clouds rising up sporadically and a river winding its way through. Our rooms were quite basic but with the raw timber and fly screen windows it just added to the atmosphere. We had been given the task of thinking of three statements about ourselves, two false and one real. The idea was that everyone was to say their statements and people would have to go around and decide which was the true one; the person who got the most right would get a ...

"El Nariz del Diablo" Dawn_smedley's photos around Riobamba, Ecuador [00:52]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Riobamba, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Dawn_smedley titled "El Nariz del Diablo!" Dawn_smedley's travel blog entry: "Riobamba is basically the start point for the train ride called ´El Nariz del Diablo´ or the Devil's Nose! This was a very cool experience and basically everyone just sits on top of the train! Even though we arrived later than everyone else, in true Team Smedders stylie we managed to bag two of the best seats on the train! Yeah! Even though I nearly got stuck at the top of the ladder trying to get on the train! Nimble as ever! Once you´re on there, you basically rent cushions to stop your bum from going numb and then just sit back and enjoy the ride! To celebrate the experience, we sat and had a beer for breakfast!!! Again the beginning of the train ride was in the shadow of snowcapped volcano Chimborazo and some of the countryside we went through was just stunning! One of the most amusing things about the train ride though was the tourist buses following the train who kept stopping to take photos! Why not just do the train ride! Going to the toilet was abit of a challenge while the train was in motion as you basically had to climb down the side of the carriage and then swing round to get to the toilets! Funnily enough, my bladder control was on top form! It was great watching all the locals going about their daily lives dressed in traditional dress (poncho´s & panama hats!) giving us a quick wave and ...

"Vilcabamba, land of the long living" Livingthedream's photos around Vilcabamba, Ecuador [00:57]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Vilcabamba, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Livingthedream titled "Vilcabamba, land of the long living..." Livingthedream's travel blog entry: "What a briliant introduction to Ecuador!!! OK, maybe not a cultural introduction but a brilliant one to say the least! I planned on being there one day and stayed 3. It is such a relaxing place, apparently the expected age of people there is 100+, i can honestly understand why after having been there. I got in at 10:30pm and went staright to the bar of the hostal for a beer which turned into 3 beers and 2 caipirinhas with the barman. At 1:30am when the night was over he had not only made me drinks all night but arranged a horse ride for the next day for me!!! So i leave the bar and go to my room, grab my toothbrush and head to the loo, come back and.... i am locked out! Barman has left for home so i have to wake up the owners to let me in!!! Great start to this trip!!! So 11am comes round and i wake with a hangover to go horseriding. Best thing i could have ever done!!! Rode around Vilcabamba for 2.5 hours on fast responsive horses...brilliant! Back to the hostel for some hammock action followed by more drinks in the bar with fellow travellers. Bed at 12:30, a little drunk again!!!! Up at midday and went for a hike to cure the hangover... what a mistake!!! Decided to climb to the summit of Mandango (1900+ mtrs). Meant to take 4-5 hours to complete, i did it in 2.5 hours. Why ...
