ECUADOR -- Vulkanabenteuer (Multimediavortrag 27.10. 2011 Erzhausen) [00:56]
Multimediavortrag von und mit Stefan Seibold am Donnerstag, dem 27.10. 20:00 Uhr im Bürgerhaus Erzhausen Dieser 90 Minuten Multimediavortrag nimmt die Zuschauer mit auf die Straße der Vulkane in die Anden Ecuadors und dokumentiert mit vielen Bildern und Videos eine anspruchsvolle Hochtour im April 2011 auf den Spuren Alexander von Humboldts. Geplant war auch den höchsten Berg Ecuadors, den Chimborazo (6.310m) zu besteigen. Zur besseren Akklimatisierung wurden vorher mehrere Vulkane (ua auch Cotopaxi und Iliniza) erklommen. Humboldt war 1802 bei der Besteigung des Chimborazo wegen einer unpassierbaren Passage unterhalb des Kraters gescheitert, hielt damit aber auf 30 Jahre einen Höhenweltrekord für Bergsteiger, eine in Anbetracht der Unzulänglichkeiten von Schuhwerk, Bekleidung und Ausrüstung nach wie vor kaum zu glaubende Leistung. Dabei litt Humboldt an den Symptomen der Höhenkrankheit: Schwindel und Brechreiz, Blutungen aus Lippen und Zahnfleisch. Los ging alles in Quito, der pulsierenden Millionenstadt auf fast 3.000m. Unterwegs mit einem Einheimischen wurden die entlegendsten Landstriche Ecuadors besucht. Die mit Pampasgras bewachsenen Hochebenen, pompöse Eiswände auf 6.000m hohen Vulkanen und atemberaubende Sonnenaufgängen über den Wolken des Ecuadors sind nur einige Eindrücke im Gepäck der Abenteurer.
