Kayaking Ecuador 1/8-14/2012 [14:24]
A truly grand adventure, a week spent whitewater kayaking in beautiful Ecuador was an unforgettable experience. Thanks to my friends for talking me into going and to Phil and Mary of DeReimer Adventure Kayaking for all the planning and making everything work. Ecuador is an amazing place, a land of adventure and beauty,where the mountains touch the clouds, and the rivers roar in every valley from the daily rain that feeds the lush landscape.

Video #6 - Hosteria Izhcayluma in Vilcabamba, Ecuador [04:12]
Video taken at the hosteria which only costs $30 US per night (tax was included in the price in all hostals/hosterias I stayed in in Ecuador), an incredibly cheap price for the setting on a hillside, the quality of the finishes in the room, and the fact that a great breakfast is included for the price. A later video will show the view looking down the hill into the city of Vilcabamba. It was great to wake up in the morning, look out the window, and see clouds moving by at eye level.

Banos, Ecuador, volcano, cloud is coming [00:42]
Это эпизод из нашего восхождения на вулкан рядом с городом Баньос в Эквадоре. Парень в футболке, Джимми - сын нашего гида, который взялся показать нам путь наверх. Гид остался на высоте три тысячи метров в своем джипе. Дальше просто не было дороги. Поверхность под ногами - это лава, субстанция из которой состоит земная кора на большой глубине. Примерно лет 10 назад этим ущельем вулкан выпустил лаву, и она сожгла всю растительность на своем пути. По ходу ролика видно, как нас накрывает белая пелена - это облако, ползущее по склону горы. Мы были в облаке, как в молоке (холодно, брррр) примерно минут двадцать, потом оно ушло дальше.
