Drunk Indios Dancing in Cuicocha [03:51]
Free video about drunk Indios dancing traditional dance near the Cuicocha lake in the Otavalo region. The men and women stomp in circles until they change direction. The moderator in the yellow shirt decides when it is time to turn. Others follow and have fun, while drinking very irresponsibly. Free food and drinks is offered at the festival, becasue all of those people are farmers and traders who organize this celebration by themselves. It is a social event for celebrating many things, including the holly mountain peaks and the protected lake. This cool video was created by epSos.de in Cuicocha of Ecuador. The indigenous people of the Americas are the original inhabitants of North and South America. They are often also referred to as Native Americans, Indios or latinos. Hispanic and Latino Americans are Americans with origins in the Hispanic countries of Latin America or in Spain. Latino Americans are very racially diverse as a result form an ethnic category, rather than a race. They are composed of numerous, distinct tribes, states, and ethnic groups, many of which survive as intact political communities. Indigenous peoples in Ecuador are the groups of people who were present in what became the South American nation of Ecuador when Europeans arrived. Otavalo, capital of Otavalo Canton, is a largely indigenous town in the Imbabura Province of Ecuador. Otavalo was an area made up of farming communities due to the rich volcanic soils in this area, but with the growth of ...

"Vilcabamba, land of the long living" Livingthedream's photos around Vilcabamba, Ecuador [00:57]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Vilcabamba, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Livingthedream titled "Vilcabamba, land of the long living..." Livingthedream's travel blog entry: "What a briliant introduction to Ecuador!!! OK, maybe not a cultural introduction but a brilliant one to say the least! I planned on being there one day and stayed 3. It is such a relaxing place, apparently the expected age of people there is 100+, i can honestly understand why after having been there. I got in at 10:30pm and went staright to the bar of the hostal for a beer which turned into 3 beers and 2 caipirinhas with the barman. At 1:30am when the night was over he had not only made me drinks all night but arranged a horse ride for the next day for me!!! So i leave the bar and go to my room, grab my toothbrush and head to the loo, come back and.... i am locked out! Barman has left for home so i have to wake up the owners to let me in!!! Great start to this trip!!! So 11am comes round and i wake with a hangover to go horseriding. Best thing i could have ever done!!! Rode around Vilcabamba for 2.5 hours on fast responsive horses...brilliant! Back to the hostel for some hammock action followed by more drinks in the bar with fellow travellers. Bed at 12:30, a little drunk again!!!! Up at midday and went for a hike to cure the hangover... what a mistake!!! Decided to climb to the summit of Mandango (1900+ mtrs). Meant to take 4-5 hours to complete, i did it in 2.5 hours. Why ...

Rio Napo (tributary to the Amazon river) [06:28]
The Napo is a tributary to the Amazon River that rises in Ecuador on the flanks of the volcanoes of Antisana, Sincholagua and Cotopaxi. Before it reaches the plains it receives a great number of small streams from impenetrable, saturated and much broken mountainous districts, where the dense and varied vegetation seems to fight for every piece of ground. From the north it is joined by the river Coca, having its sources in the gorges of Cayambe (volcano) on the equator, and also a powerful river, the Aguarico, having its headwaters between Cayambe and the Colombian frontier. From the west it receives a secondary tributary ...
