I, Erica, am deathly afraid of heights. Somehow our Couchsurfing friends convinced me that I can overcome my fears... and while I did... well, you'll have to watch. Puenting (bridge jumping) in Banos, Ecuador.

Galapagos are home to some of the most exotic fauna, birds, reptiles and marine life seen anywhere in the world!!! The islands were completely uninhabited by man until 1535, for the wildlife living there man was just another species... The animals lack fear, I can easily walk or swim next to them!!! It's a paradise for snorkeling... wit rays, turtles, seals, sharks, penguins and more!!! Incredible animals, colorful reptiles and spectacular sceneries are waiting for me. It´sa special moment to celebrate the life... realize a dream!!! Galapagos is a unique life experience!!!

"Guayaquil - (that's whay-a-kill, canny lad)" Terryback's photos around Guayaquil, Ecuador [00:56]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Guayaquil, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Terryback titled "Guayaquil - (that's whay-a-kill, canny lad)" Terryback's travel blog entry: "So, Wednesday morning, we're at sea level with Jane still dizzy and wobbly but thankfully not nauseous. We flew to Guayaquil in Ecuador, a place that sounded like it had been discovered by Geordie explorers. The flight, our last on LAN, was on a half-full brand-new Boeing 767, with full entertainment. I started to watch the Golden Compass. I knew the film was two hours long and the flight only one and a half, but I was strangely drawn to it....idiot. I'll have to buy the DVD now. We were met at Guayaquil by our guide William (William, Oliver....they all sound a bit Surrey really. Can't wait to meet Nigel at our next stop). He gave us a quick run down of the city (safe, great river front walk, better than Quito...errr - that's it) then dropped us at the hotel. We were due to meet him the next day for a city tour. We had a long walk that afternoon. The town was really buzzy and typically South American. Manic drivers, taking no prisoners; haughty pedestrians showing no fear and refusing to acknowledge the cars. On every street corner there were old ladies and urchins selling coca cola in plastic cups from 2 litre bottles for 5c. (is that too Dickensian, urchins? Lummee governor, errr, senor, you're a real toff, thankee). Jane points out that there were also lots of smart young men selling ...

"Tortugas, iguanas, marine lobos and more" Katandsuren's photos around Galapagos Islands, Ecuador [02:37]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Galapagos Islands, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Katandsuren titled "Tortugas, iguanas, marine lobos and more...." Katandsuren's travel blog entry: "We've just returned to Quito after spending 12 amazing days in the Galapagos Islands! The interaction with wildlife is truly unique as (especially on the uninhabited islands) the animals have no natural fear of humans. The result is that we could get very close to the wildlife - often needing to jump out of the way of sea lions shuffling along the beach or stop in our tracks to let an albatross waddle across our path!! Being able to snorkel within touching distance of a group of sea turtles whilst they happily munched on seaweed was an incredible experience as they weren't fussed by our presence at all. Another highlight was snorkelling with sea lion pups which was an amazing experience as they were so playful and inquisitive. Whilst observing the wildlife and taking in the scenery we had to watch our step so as not to tread on the iguanas (both marine and land) that were everywhere. Anyway as the cliché goes a picture tells a thousand words so with this entry we've uploaded lots of pics and a couple of short videos of the highlights (keep an eye out for the body surfing sea lions and the angry giant tortoises) and have also uploaded another set of pics for anyone may want to see more. Our 6am flight from Quito via Guayaquil to Baltra (the main airport island of the ...
