A continental breakfast is served every morning using organic products from local farms. Originally, the hostel was a house for the owners 2 daughters, Maile and Naori, There were 6 rooms and the idea was to have a place to share holiday times with them. As time passed by, they became more independent and the house grew quiet and empty. This led to the idea of a place to accommodate the Santa Cruz growing tourist population. Making the most of its strategic location, the Mainao offers a comfortable stay, away from the downtown hustle and bustle. Throughout experience as tour guides, have come to understand the tourists expectations in terms of service and infrastructure, and have applied these to the hotel. A Weekend in Mindo, Pichincha, Ecuador [02:53]
This is a small collage of our time spent in Mindo, Pichincha, Ecuador from May 27th until May 29th, 2011 on a break from studying abroad at la Universidad San Fransisco de Quito. We began with the views of the town and the greater part of the video is from the hike of the Sanctuario de Cascadas; a twenty minute cab ride from the town's beautiful center. If you are a traveler, message me for trip advice, as my group was able to learn copious amounts of information from our hostel owners. The city is unbelievably beautiful and if you get a chance to visit, don't let it pass. It's a $2.50 two and a half hour bus ride to the northwest of Quito. Enjoy!
