Drunk Indios Dancing in Cuicocha [03:51]
Free video about drunk Indios dancing traditional dance near the Cuicocha lake in the Otavalo region. The men and women stomp in circles until they change direction. The moderator in the yellow shirt decides when it is time to turn. Others follow and have fun, while drinking very irresponsibly. Free food and drinks is offered at the festival, becasue all of those people are farmers and traders who organize this celebration by themselves. It is a social event for celebrating many things, including the holly mountain peaks and the protected lake. This cool video was created by epSos.de in Cuicocha of Ecuador. "The Galapagos Voyage Part 2" Atullgupta's photos around San Cristóbal, Ecuador [02:28]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to San Cristóbal, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Atullgupta titled "The Galapagos Voyage Part 2" Atullgupta's travel blog entry: "Day 4 - today we said goodbye to some of our passengers, who had booked the 4-day cruise, as opposed to our 8-day version. This meant going to San Cristobal Island, and getting away from the animals for a while whilst we explored the Galapagos Visitor centre, which explained the origins of the islands, its wildlife (endemic, native and introduced) and the environmental issues affecting the islands. The most dramatic of these was the impact of us as tourists, who now outnumber the local population. Add to this the carelessness of man by bringing verminous creatures and livestock that endanger the ecosystem and animals and man's own historic greed in wiping out species of tortoises by using their oils as fuels! It brought home the delicate nature of the island, and positively informed us of the measures taken to eradicate the infesting introduced species, and curbing of local population growth. Tourism must bring in too much money for the government to sanction against - but I wouldn't be surprised on forthcoming restrictions being placed. In an awkward way, I felt lucky we had a chance to see the islands. After lunch, we headed to Isla Lobos to reacquaint ourselves with familiar sea-lions and iguanas. However, the specialty of this place was the presence of the frigate birds, that have a dazzling ...
