The Amazon River in South America is the second longest in the world and by far the largest by waterflow with an average discharge greater than the next seven largest rivers combined (not including Madeira and Rio Negro, which are tributaries of the Amazon). The Amazon, which has the largest drainage basin in the world, about 7050000 square kilometres (2720000 sq mi), accounts for approximately one-fifth of the world's total river flow. In its upper stretches, above the confluence of the Negro River, the Amazon is called Solimões in Brazil; however, in Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, as well as the rest of the Spanish-speaking world, the river is generally called the Amazon downstream from the confluence of the Marañón and Ucayali rivers in Peru. The Ucayali-Apurímac river system is considered the main source of the Amazon. The width of the Amazon varies between 1.6 and 10 kilometres (1.0 and 6.2 mi) at low stage, but expands during the wet season to 48 kilometres (30 mi) or more. The river enters the Atlantic Ocean in a broad estuary about 240 kilometres (150 mi) wide. The mouth of the main stem is 80 kilometres (50 mi).[5] Because of its vast dimensions, it is sometimes called The River Sea. Basílica del Voto Nacional. También llamada de la Consagración de Jesús, o Basílica de San Juan (por el sector en el que está ubicada). Es un edificio religioso de estilo neogótico del centro histórico de la ciudad de Quito. Por sus dimensiones y estilo está considerado como el templo neogótico más grande de América. Se ubica en el sector conocido como Santa Prisca, en las calles Carchi y Venezuela, junto al Convento de los padres Oblatos.

SE REALIZÓ CONFRATERNIDAD Y RECONOCIMIENTO A LOS MILITANTES Y SIMPATIZANTES DE ALIANZA PAIS MADRID Y TOLEDO Para congratular el esfuerzo y dedicación en el fortalecimiento del proceso político de la Revolución Ciudadana en España, el pasado 23 de diciembre a las 19h30, se dio cita la Militancia de Alianza PAIS Madrid y Toledo, en la ciudad de Fuenlabrada, Madrid. El evento contó con la presencia de Santiago Torres, Concejal del Ayuntamiento de Fuenlabrada, nuestra compañera Aminta Buenaño Rugel, Embajadora del Ecuador en España, María Teresa Osses, Ministra de la Embajada, Yolanda Villavicencio, Ex Parlamentaria de la Asamblea de Madrid y actual Presidenta de asociación Aesco, Juan Carlos Lucero, Presidente de la Federación Nacional de Ecuatorianos en España "Fenadee", y Jaime Campo Representante de la Fundación Consejo Mundial del Migrante, entre otros. Para ello, los dirigentes responsables de los Comités -- CRC`s presentes, recibieron un Diploma en reconocimiento por la activa participación en el engrandecimiento del Movimiento Alianza País Madrid y el fortalecimiento de la la Revolución Ciudadana en el exterior. La compañera Embajadora Buenaño, se dirigió a los presentes con un mensaje de cercanía. Estamos para servirles - dijo -- "mediante una diplomacia ciudadana, una compañera, amiga, una persona que está dispuesta a trabajar con ustedes, a luchar brazo a brazo y hacer un mejor trabajo, caminar juntos en este proyecto de la Revolución Ciudadana" -- comentó.
