Pyramids Ecuador - Cochasquí / unedited [00:28]
Pyramids in Ecuador - open to public. The entire compound was - until recently - owned by a single family. It is currently under the care of the government of Ecuador and open to the public. The "main" or "most central" structure was dug up (in a most unprofessional way / utterly destroyed) before the family gave the property over to the government of Ecuador. When asked if they found anything the family member in question became nervous and skirted the question. Laughing we can openly discuss the gold they must have unearthed. Officially no gold was found. Nonetheless artifacts did/do? abound in and around this site. On a personal note, highly relevant archaeological sites abound everywhere we have dug in Ecuador. "Grave?" sites along the coast near Bahia have been approximately 30 meters deep. Other pyramids look like those featured in these videos - earthen mounts or hills, covered in vegetation.

"Horse-trekking in the Andes" Markandluke's photos around Vilcambamba, Ecuador [01:10]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Vilcambamba, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Markandluke titled "Horse-trekking in the Andes" Markandluke's travel blog entry: "After flying down from Quito in order to excape the road-blocks, we continued travelling for 2 hours to a small village called Vilcambamba, and then down a dirt track to some cabañas (bungalows) on a river, surrounded by huge mountains and valleys. The hostel was owned by an American guy with a very twicked head, who`s sentences seemed to contain the longest pauses ever. Sometimes he would just tail-off and forget what he was saying, other times he would talk for half an hour about Pine forests. Really funny though, and we knew we would enjoy our stay there. The hostel (4 bugalows) had a sauna right next to an icey mountain stream, so we thought it would be rude not to partake in a spot of relaxation at least twice. The4 home cooked food (English wife) was great, and we did a 2 day horse-trek, which took us into the cloud forest. The day trek to get to the refuge (where we would spend the night) was pretty scary in places, as the rain had made the paths into quagmires, and at points there were drops that must have been 200m on both sides. When the horses started to slip and drop to their knees, that was when the heart skipped a few beats! We made it safely up though, and had spectacular views from the refuge - in the middle of nowhere, just us two and the guide surrounded by forest and mountains ...
