"Hoy es un día trágico para la comunidad latinoamericana y para Cataluña", dijo el Embajador de Ecuador, Galo Chiriboga, debajo del Arco del Triunfo en Barcelona. La comunidad ecuatoriana escogió este sitio para rendir un homenaje a las víctimas del accidente en Castelldefels. Un centenar de personas se unieron a este acto de solidaridad y de luto. Claveles blancos y listones negros identificaron a los asistentes.
