Sarah Marie Photography, 2011 [13:42]
Photography sample of my favorite images (out of literally 20000) I took while traveling for six months around South America and Southeast Asia. Images are from my travels in Argentina; Ecuador; the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest; Galapagos Islands; Portillo, Chile; Easter Island; Mancora, Peru; Rio de Janiero, Brazil; Vietnam; and Thailand. Enjoy.

Bienvenidos a Peru.wmv [00:46]
Anitclimax is what I found over the Zumba, Ecuador to San Ignacio, Peru border, anticlimax and a surly immigrations officer (here seen in the red shirt) waiting to give me a so-so first impression of his country. From there, things didn´t exactly improve; my driver charged me 50 soles for my ride to San Ignacio, a price I now know to be horribly gringo-inflated. To add insult to financial injury, he crammed in four other guys into the car, so not only was I ripped off, I was ripped off with sweaty elbows jamming into my ribs. But, it happens, and my journey to Iquitos had to start somewhere. I´ve chose to use a route that is not recommended in various tour guides, namely because it´s infrequently traveled and involves so many bus transfers and stops. Being off the beaten trail will be a new experience for me, at least on this trip; here´s hoping all goes well!

Leaving Mindo [00:47]
Well, I really felt great about Mindo, but away I go, off to join Freja (FRAY-ah), the young Swedish backpacker extraordinaire and her two Canuck buds in a hike up Cotopaxi, this real big volcano I hear is still active. I'll miss Mindo, but maybe, on my way back through Ecuador (if I make my way back through Ecuador), I'll revisit what has been a wonderful place. Wish me luck on the volcano! Does 5897 m (19347 ft) sound high enough to you?
