Yasuní National Park The Amazonian Rainforest ITT [17:31]
Early in the morning, we`ll visit the Napo Wild Life Center, which belongs to the Kichwa community of Anango, found within the park and considered by the rainforest alliance as the best Lodge (Jungle Hotel) in the world. We`ll visit two salting spots where flocks of different species of parrots come to feed on salt and lime, a substantial component of the diet of these animals. We`ll see in the first spot up to 8 species of parrots , that form groups of up to 800 individuals, and in the second, more than 12 species that form groups of up to 800 and more birds. Then we will enter in small indigenous canoes through the narrow channels in the middle of the jungle to the lagoon of Añango and the Hotel Napo Wilde Life Center. On our way, we´ll be able to see up to 8 species of primates: Fundación Ecuador Volunteer / Yanéz Pinzón N25-106 y Av. Colón / Quito - Ecuador - South America Telfax (593-2) 2557749 - 2226544 herds of capuchin monkeys, barizos, howler, spider monkeys, tamarins, among others, besides many birds, reptiles and other species. As additional data is worth to mention, that a team of researchers from the University San Francisco de Quito and Maryland, US, concluded that the Yasuni is the most biodiverse sanctuary in South America and the world. In a report issued last month, it was detailed that in a single hectare of the Yasuni forest there is an estimated 100 000 species of insects.
