The Smokey Jungle Frog or Smoky Jungle Frog (Leptodactylus pentadactylus) is a species frog in the Leptodactylidae family. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical swamps, subtropical or tropical moist mountains, rivers, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marches, and aquaculture ponds and riversides along the Shiripuno Physical characteristics Males of this large, robust frog are slightly larger than females; they attain a maximum snout-vent length of 18.0 cm (7.3 in), whereas the maximum length in females is 17.6 cm (6.9 in). The body is robust; the head is large with an acutely rounded snout and prominent tympanum. The skin on the dorsum and venter is smooth, and a prominent dorsolateral dermal fold extends from the orbit to the groin. The fingers and toes are long with slender tips and lack webbing. Breeding males have greatly swollen forelimbs and one large, pointed, black spine on the inner surface of the thumb and two black spines on each side of the chest. The dorsum is tan to reddish brown with broad, reddish brown marks on the body between the yellowish tan dorsolateral folds. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, moist savanna, rivers, intermittent freshwater marshes, and canals and ditches. It is threatened by habitat loss. It is also reported to produce Bufotenin.

Volcán Sangay (Sangay Volcano in Ecuador) [01:31]
Constituye una elevación de gran interés geológico, debido a su actividad volcánica permanente con presencia de fumarolas, erupciones y flujos de lava ardiente. Por las noches ofrece despliegues naturales similares a los juegos pirotécnicos los cuales son observables. El Sangay es uno de los volcanes más activos del mundo. Un cono simétrico y flancos de pendiente fuerte le dan un aspecto que, con toda seguridad, también le hace estar entre los más fotografiados. Se consiguen impresionantes cuadros desde el oriente y, durante las noches de su actividad volcánica. Esta localizado en la Provincia de Morona Santiago a 30 kilómetros de Macas. El cráter central tiene un diámetro de 100 my una profundidad de 50 m, hacia el noreste otro cráter de diámetro de 50 my un tercero hacia el oeste del cráter principal de 100 m de diámetro. Tiene 5.230 metros de altura. En lo que respecta a la fauna podemos presenciar de especie como: lobo de páramo, cervicabra, oso de anteojos, danta de montaña, danta de Oriente, oso hormiguero, venados, puma. Entre las aves se destacan los patos de torrente y comunes, gaviota andina, curiquingue, y el majestuoso cóndor.
