Lima is the capital and the largest city of Peru. It is located in the valleys of the Chillón, Rímac and Lurín rivers, in the central part of the country, on a desert coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Together with the seaport of Callao, it forms a contiguous urban area known as the Lima Metropolitan Area. With a population approaching 9 million, Lima is the fourth largest city in South America. Lima was founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro on January 18, 1535, as la Ciudad de los Reyes, or "the City of Kings". It became the capital and most important city in the Spanish Viceroyalty of Peru. Following the Peruvian War of Independence, it became the capital of the Republic of Peru. Today, around one-third of the Peruvian population lives in the metropolitan area. Lima is home to one of the oldest higher learning institutions in the New World. The National University of San Marcos, founded on May 12, 1551 during Spanish colonial regime, is the oldest continuously functioning university in the Americas. Lima's architecture is characterized by a mix of styles. Examples of early colonial architecture include the Monastery of San Francisco, the Cathedral of Lima and the Torre Tagle Palace. These constructions are generally influenced by the Spanish baroque, Spanish Neoclassicism, and Spanish Colonial styles. "Pailon del Diablo" Waterfall Cascada [00:42]
Cost: $1.50 Duration: 2 hours Pailon Del Diablo Waterfall in Rio Verde, Ecuador. You can get there by taking a bus from Baños towards Puyo and get off in Rio Verde. When you get off just go towards the river and make a left when you can´t go straight anymore. You will run into the path which is the entrance to Pailon Del Diablo. You will walk on the path for 30 minutes before you get to the waterfall. This is recommend for in shape people only, no fat Americans please! LOL!

Leaving Colombia and arriving in Ecuador - Adventure motorcycling trip.mpeg [03:13]
Colombia has been relaxing, an adventure, we only probably road 10 days in the month we stayed there and we are now ready for the big ride down to Ushuaia in Tierra Del Fuego/ Argentina. We are currently in the Ecuadorian part of the Amazon jungle, having crossed the Equator. Leaving Bogota we headed south over a magnificent pass between Ibague and Armenia. Climbing to an altitude of 4000m through sweeping bends, lush mountains and small villages along the way. Then after this mountain crossing we straight-lined it south towards Popayan and then the border town of Ipiales where we crossed into Ecuador.

Departing north, we make a right turn East, then continue in the NE direction towards; Barrancabermeja [EJA] then Cucuta [CUC] which borders with Venezuela. Then straight to Curacao !...
