CotacachiRealEstate.co presents a short capsule of current Cotacachi with a few slides of this quaint town in the highlands of Ecuador. Tucked away in the Northern part of Ecuador is Cotacachi. Located in a valley and surrounded by the Andes Mountains and two dormant volcanos. Cotacachi is a city of approximately 10000 people consisting of Expats, Indigenous and Mestizos. The elevation is approximately 8000 feet above sea level. Cotacachi is known as the leather village of Ecuador. Along our main street you will find many leather shops, banks, restaurants. Our new International Airport opened on February 20th. Location will eliminate going through Quito our Capitol to reach Cotacachi and our neighboring cities. Travel will be much easier to the Northern part of Ecuador for residents and visitors alike. Ecuador has been named once again as the Number 1 city for retirement by International Living. A recent conference in Quito had a participation of over 450 people. The popularity of this unique mountain town has increased and it has become a great place for retirement, a relaxing vacation or business ventures and investment.
