Cotacachi - a town on the move [00:42]

Located in a valley and surrounded by the Andes Mountains and two dormant volcanos. Cotacachi is a city of approximately 10000 people consisting of Expats, Indigenous and Mestizos. Travel will be much easier to the Northern part of Ecuador for residents and visitors alike. Ecuador has been named once again as the Number 1 city for retirement by International Living. A recent conference in Quito had a participation of over 450 people. Museo Banco Central, Parque Arqueologico Inka : Tomebamba, Site INKA. WIKIPEDIA : Cuenca est une ville d'Équateur et la capitale de la province de Azuay. Elle est située dans la Sierra -- hauts plateaux --, à 2 500 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer, à 307 km au sud de Quito. Son nom complet est Santa Ana de los Cuatro Ríos de Cuenca. Avec une population d'environ 450 000 habitants, Cuenca est la troisième ville de l'Équateur. L'ancienne seconde capitale de l'Empire inca de TOMEBAMBA a été conquise en 1533 par les Espagnols. Toutefois, son histoire remonte au village cañari appelé Guapondeleg (« terre aussi grande que le paradis », VIe siècle), conquis par les Incas et renommé Tomebamba. La ville actuelle a été fondée en 1557 par l'historien espagnol Diego Hurtado de Mendoza ou alors par Gil Ramirez Davalos, et a été déclarée indépendante en 1820. Elle a été classée en 1999 comme centre historique du Patrimoine culturel mondial par l'Unesco.

Welcome to Yacuma Lodge, a beautiful place created for those who love the Amazon Rainforest. Through these pages we want to share with you the wonders offered by the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest and invite you to enjoy an unforgettable journey. ¿How was it born? Yacuma Ecolodge is a joint ecotourism initiative of the rainforest Indigenous Kichwa Community of Chontayacu and Pamir Travels Group in Ecuador. It was founded in 1995 and since that the Ecolodge provides employment opportunities through nature-based tourism, a much-needed economic alternative to lodging. The goal at the outset of the Yacuma project was to create a viable ecotourism lodge that is wholly owned and operated by local Ecuadorian managers and staff. To accomplish this, Pamir trained villagers in a broad range of activities, including house keeping, food preparation and tours guiding. Today, 15 families receive regular direct economic benefits from employment and management of the ecolodge. They also receive indirect benefits from the sale of crafts that are made in a sustainable manner.
