Carding is the first step in the process of producing hand-made scarves, ponchos, bags, blankets and shawls at the home shop of this Quichua Indian couple in Ecuador's Imbabura Province. The couple were introduced simply as "Taita" and "Mama", Quichua words that roughly approximate "Sir" and "Ma'am."
