Moving to Latin America: A Gringo Warning [13:30]
If you are planning a move to Latin America, do as I say and not as I did: RENT for a FULL YEAR before plunking one dollar down on a piece of land there. Don't be the latest dumb Gringo to wind up kicking yourself for your rash decision.

Yasuní the last paradise - Amazon - ECUADOR HD HQ [08:23]
A team of scientists from Ecuador and the United States has documented that the Yasuni National Park is the most biodiverse area in South America. In addition, the new study details how the Yasuni breaks world records for a wide range of groups of plants and animals, from insects and amphibians to the trees. However, the authors warn that oil projects in lots 31 and ITT represent the greatest threat to Yasuni and biodiversity. "Yasuni is at the center of a small area where amphibians, birds, mammals and vascular plants all reach a maximum diversity in South America," "The 150 species of amphibians documented to date in Yasuni is a world record for an area of this size, " said Diego F. Cisneros-Heredia, Universidad San Francisco de Quito. "There are more species of frogs and toads in Yasuni that are native to the United States and Canada combined."

Pygmy Marmoset [00:16]
The Pygmy Marmoset or Dwarf Monkey is a New World monkey native to the Rainforest canopies of western Brazil, southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru, and northern Bolivia. It is one of the smallest primates, and the smallest true monkey, with its body length ranging from 14 to 16 centimetres (5.5 to 6.3 in) (excluding the 15-to-20-centimetre (5.9 to 7.9 in) tail). Males weigh around 140 grams (4.9 oz), and females only 120 grams (4.2 oz). Despite its name, the Pygmy Marmoset is somewhat different from the typical marmosets, most of which are classified in the genera Callithrix and Mico; as such, it is accorded its own genus, Cebuella. Nicknames for this monkey often refer to its diminutiveness, as in the following two examples: mono de bolsillo ("pocket monkey") and leoncito ("little lion"). The Pygmy Marmoset is not to be mistaken for a 'thumb monkey' which is a fictional animal perpetuated by edited internet images. The Pygmy Marmoset uses special types of communication to give alerts and warning to its family members. These include chemical, vocal, and physical types of communication. A trill is used to communicate over long distance. A sharp warning whistle and a clicking sound signal danger to their family members. A J-call is a series of fast notes repeated by the caller and is used at medium distances. Pygmy marmosets live 11-12 years in the wild, but in zoos, they live into their early twenties. Marmosets often live in groups made up of an adult pair ...

"Like No Place on Earth" Jeffsadventures's photos around Galapagos Islands, Ecuador [02:38]
A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Galapagos Islands, Ecuador by TravelPod blogger Jeffsadventures titled "Like No Place on Earth" Jeffsadventures's travel blog entry: "A couple weeks ago, I left Cuenca on the afternoon bus to Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest city. From there, I planned to arrange a trip to the famous Galapagos Islands where Charles Darwin formed his theory of evolution. Along the way, the bus had to stop at a roadside repair station to change a flat tire. While I was there, I met an old, very excitable, indigenous man that was so happy to see people, he ran out of his little store to greet everyone personally. I asked him where I was and the name of his town. This puzzled him for a moment. After some confusing thought, he eventually replied, "It's part of Ecuador." Coincidentally, this was my first guess as well. With a little more thinking, he eventually decided it was Kilometer 26. KM 26 on the main highway from Cuenca to Guayaquil. So there you have it.. I visited KM 26 somewhere in a part of Ecuador between these two cities. I arrived in Guayaquil just in time for their biggest festival of the year... which I had no idea about until I opened my guide book for a hotel recommendation and was warned hotels may be hard to come by. Luck prevailed and I found a good one near the center of town. Guayaquil has done a lot to improve itself in recent years and the new mile and a half long Malecon 2000 boardwalk along the river is better than ...
