Tenho ja Taivas - Intensidad y Altura II
The Cultural Association ArteFacto and the Association of Friend Countries (Asociacion de Paises Amigos) organize the second Edition of the Interdisciplinary Art Exhibition Tenho ja Taivas - Intensidad y Altura on October 26th and 29th of this year at the Representation of the European Union in Helsinki, Finland. Tenho ja Taivas II joins the events being held worldwide to commemorate the Bicentennial of the Independence of Latin American countries. This date is ideal to reflect on issues such as identity affirmation, rise of xenophobia, rights of the indigenous people, land rights, the safeguard of heritage, nationalism, migration, colonialism and globalization, among others. For the second consecutive year, Tenho ja Taivas presents the creations of Finnish and Latin American artists residing in Finland in disciplines such as photography, theater, music, dance and literature. The exhibition offers the public an interdisciplinary and intercultural dialogue between Europe and Latin America, through a program which starts at 12:00 at ends at 19:00. Tenho ja Taivas ("Intensity and Height" in Finnish) borrows its name from the homonym poem of the writer Cesar Vallejo, born in Santiago de Chuco, Peru. The first edition of this interdisciplinary exhibition, held at the Cultural Center Caisa in Helsinki on April 21st, 2009, honored the commemoration of the death of the distinguished Peruvian poet.
